COVID Vaccine: Killer or Healer

The COVID-19 pandemic have truly cause a lot of major changes and effects in the whole world, there are tons of casualties due to the spreading virus and the continues falling of our economy due to the lockdowns and quarantines. Our only hope was for the scientists and researches to find a cure or vaccine to end the reign of this deadly virus and go back to our usual normal lives and finally, with their combined efforts they were able to create a vaccine, our one and only hope. But with the production of different vaccines by different companies, it became difficult to decide whether what vaccine to trust and take especially if there is no guarantee that it is 100% safe and effective, people are being cautious because of the past issues on different vaccines produced before. While vaccines are created by professionals, it doesn’t mean that it is truly effective and safe unless proven, there will always be doubtsand risks that’s why trials and testings are conducted to ensure the vaccines efficiency. Vaccinations are supposed to strengthen the immunity against the COVID-19 virus safely and effectively.

As of April 3, 2021, three COVID vaccines were authorised and recommended by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA); Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson or Janssen. According to the Department of Health (DOH), vaccines that have achieved safety milestones and given Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are considered to be safe and effective by the available datas.

There are many more vaccines being currently develop but not all of them are guaranteed safe and effective yet. Although some of these vaccines are being put into test already, there is still no guarantee for 100 percent success and effectiveness that’s why development of vaccines continues to create a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine. For now, we only have the three approved vaccines; Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson or Janssen and they are currently the only ones being used in public. As of now these vaccines are proving effective with a high percentage success against COVID-19 virus and variants. Testings and trials are still being conducted to test its effectivity to be able to convince the public that vaccines are safe and efficient.

Vaccines are our last stand against this deadly pandemic. It is our only hope on our current situation to get rid of this deadly virus. Once a successful vaccine is manufactured, with high percentage of effectiveness and safety, people should be willing to subject theirselves for vaccination voluntarily. We cannot blame the people who are scared of the vaccine due to the fear of side effects that’s why people should be cautious and choose carefully on what vaccine they’re going to take. But let’s have more faith on the combined efforts of all the researchers who subject theirselves on finding a cure or vaccine against this virus. Right now, we’re in hard times all we can do is unite together to eradicate this virus that have been destroying us since its spread and vaccines will be a big help to fulfill that goal.
